Birthing With Your Moon
- The Cardinal Signs
As I watched myself give birth, I felt the confines of myself stretch, feeling another being pass through me, ushering forth a gift for growth and another level of relationship. I learnt how to develop and use my intuition with my Moon in 2015 after giving birth to my Scorpio Moon daughter.
I am also a Building Biology™ -trained Electromagnetic Radiation Specialist. These fields emanate from living and electrical systems. I apply these principles when trying to calm and clear my client’s mindful wellbeing and their environment in preparation for birth and motherhood. I would be honoured to work with you in the journey of Mothering.
Meaning of the cardinal signs
Cardinal, fixed, and mutable are astrology's three modalities (also referred to as quadruplicities, qualities, or modes.) Cardinal signs is about new beginnings. It is active, initiative, and aggressive. The cardinal signs are Aries, Cancer, Libra and Capricorn – the signs associated with the beginning of each new season.
Cardinal signs start off every new season, and in their childhood, they have become familiar with being self reliant and assertive. Intuitively understanding that things come to an end, their role as Mothers is to prepare their loved ones through and for the changing of seasons.
Mothering gifts of the cardinal signs
These Moons take naturally to new experiences. They offer their children the gifts of courage and motivation. They are always on the go, and full of interesting ideas. Through their actions, they show the value of enthusiastic, pro-active, and being present with their loved ones. Their best parenting style seeks interesting experiences and wants to be without restrictions.
However, cardinal moons are also the fastest to react, which, without discrimination, may put them in less helpful paths. They are not the best at adapting to change or, on the flip side, resisting it. By requiring their loved ones fulfill these tasks for them, they risk becoming inflexible and rigid and lose the very spark in the first place. They jump on to the next project, which leave a shameful path of unactualised needs that these Moons deeply desire with their loved ones.
Tackling the themes most resonant to your inner self brings you to address, and heal, any wounds within yourself of shame, low esteem. Nurturing this aspect of yourself reassures you that you are in the right direction.
Aries Moon
cardinal fire, the beginning of spring
Everything you have offers an opportunity for you to nest and feel secure. Go over the objects you have in your home, and the resources you have shored up around you. What gifts of security will you provide to your new love?
Cancer Moon
cardinal water, the beginning of summer
The prospect of motherhood can seem old hat to this Moon, as it is the sign that rules family and specifically Mother. We enter the world, the first experience of life from our mother’s womb. Discover for yourself the values you want to continue in the new life and relationship with your loved ones. This will help quell emotional exhaustion.
Libra Moon
cardinal air, the beginning of autumn
Elegance and grace keep this Moon on an even keel, which can seem at odds with the more gritty, tiresome matters of the daily grind. This Moon imparts the gift of relating, of relationship to children. There is no other way to love than a continual affair of relating to the new being you have created.
Capricorn Moon
cardinal earth, the beginning of winter
The sign of the Winter Solstice and when it is darkest before it gets light. Capricorn Moons feel relaxed and calm when they remember they have been pushing to reach the top. Work is often said to be like play to Capricorns and you can take this spirit of labour to a fulfiling and productive life with your children in the task of motherhood ahead— if indeed you remind yourself that play is like work for you.
