The Hermetic Principles
These basic Hermetic teachings outline an ageless wisdom. In ancient times and even today, these teachings were not understood by the lay person, but were readily understood by students, after the axioms and principles had been explained and exemplified by the Hermetic Initiates and Masters to their Neophytes. The Kybalion was originally published in the early 1900's and is now in the public domain.
You can apply these laws to your own life through astrology. While some of the laws seem esoteric, others are obvious — such as the law of rhythm, as the cycles of the planets show us the patterns in life.
Recognising these patterns, and its laws, will help you chart the cycles of your karma, the cause-and-effect sequences in your life, just as it will allow you to map the inner dimensions of your dharma, your duty to fulfill your reason for being.
The law of one (Mentalism)
“The All is Mind; the Universe is Mental.”
Everything in this Universe is alive and conscious, for it is all made of intelligent energy. We do not live in a physical world, but within the Divine Mind. As such, our thoughts affect the world “outside of” us, since that which appears to be outside of us is only an extension of the mind which we ourselves also are.
Thus, everything we do has consequences and creates a ripple effect in the universe.
The law of Vibration
One of hermetic principals is the principal of vibration.
"Nothing rests; everything moves; everything vibrates."—The Kybalion
In metaphysics and quantum physics, vibration refers to the energy inherent in all aspects of existence, which is verified by modern science, especially the proponents of string theory.Each entity, from particles to thoughts, emits its own frequency, contributing to the interconnected web of energy that surrounds us.
These frequencies influence how we perceive and experience the world around us. Vibration in quantum physics means everything is energy. We are vibrant beings on certain frequencies. Every vibration is equivalent to a feeling, and in the world of "Vibrational," there are only two species of vibrations: positive and negative. Any feeling makes you broadcast a vibration that can be positive or negative.
The Hermetic philosophers take this idea of vibration one step further than the scientists who see its repercussions on the material plane.
Everything in existence is in constantly in motion. Vibrating at a certain frequency. You will only experience and attract things that match your vibrational frequency.
The Law of Correspondence
“As above, so below; as below, so above.”
Everything which occurs on the physical level is a reflection of a spiritual occurrence at a higher level of reality. When you take time to close examine your circumstances, you can discern the thoughts, feelings and beliefs which predominate in your consciousness and that are attracting those circumstances.
Patterns and sequences repeat on every level throughout existence. The Fibonacci spiral is perhaps one of the most popular fractals. It can be seen on a small scale in the pattern of a nautilus shell; on a larger scale in the formation of a hurricane. And even on a galactic scale when you analyze the formation of a spiral galaxy.
Everything you experience, the way you view the world is simply a mirror of what is on the inside.
The emanations of changes in mental states are the invisible forces which influence those around us.
They are the sounds and colours people don’t see or hear but they feel.
If you are sensitive to energy, you might have noticed the dense feeling in a room in which bad news had just been shared.
What you are feeling is the emanations of the lower vibrations in the room.
When good news has been shared, the feeling is very different.
Even in personal relationships, there are certain people with whom you effortlessly get along. These are people you are in resonance with. Then there are people you just can’t seem to tolerate and you don’t know why.
The law of Polarity
“Everything is dual; everything has poles; everything has its pair of opposites; like and unlike are the same; opposites are identical in nature but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled.”
Everything has an opposite dark/light, good/bad, hot/cold, lightwork/shadow work and so on. You need to understand they are one and the same. Two sides of the same coin. One cannot exist without the other.
Opposites are complementary and necessary for balance and growth.

The law of Attraction
You get what you give. You are what you eat.
You will attract the energy that matches the Vibrational frequency of the energy you put out. Be the love you want to see in this existence. It’s often called karma.
On a more subconscious level, this law reveals the unconscious self-sabotaging programs and beliefs that keep you in a place of lack and scarcity due to trauma, shadow projections, childhood wounding, ancestral trauma, core beliefs in the family, etc.
Most of it is UNCONSCIOUS, and you are not aware of it!
The law of rhythm
Patterns, sequence repeat infinitely. Cycles are in a constant rhythm in existence. Everything flows, out and in; everything has its tides; all things rise and fall; the pendulum-swing manifests in everything.
Integration is key to growth. Survival of the fittest doesn't mean the strongest or the smartest. It is those most able to adapt. Go with the flow.
The law of gender
Everything in existence has a masculine or feminine energy not necessarily related to form. There needs the be a perfect balance of divine feminine and divine masculine.
The masculine gives, the feminine receives. They hold the universe together through their constant energetic exchange. This magnetic energy is modeled in nature, science and technology.
